Construction Bluetooth Speaker

This project started with a teardown of a standard Bluetooth speaker and the challenge of reimagining it for a much more demanding environment: a construction site. We focused on construction workers, more specifically framers, who deal with dust, mud, rain, and loud machinery, and we tried to imagine how a speaker could fit into that world. Early research showed us that durability, glove-friendly controls, and simple setup mattered more than fancy features. Through sketches, rough foam models, and plenty of trial and error, the design evolved into a compact form with a clamp on the speaker to mount almost anywhere on the jobsite. The materials and finishes were chosen to echo the look and toughness of power tools, not consumer electronics. Ultimately, our product now feels more like a piece of gear a worker would toss into their bag without a second thought.
